Million Dollar Advice for Millennials 💸 – Josh King Madrid & Peter Voogd
Stay Away From People Who Don’t Help You Grow
If you want to level up from wherever you are in life today, just remember, you MUST hang out with people who force you to level up.
Stay away from STILL people.
Still kicking it with lame fools.
Still partying every weekend and doing drugs.
Still being skeptical of great opportunities.
Still watching from the sidelines instead of taking action.
Still saying “what if” instead of “I WILL”.
It might be hard to cut-off these “still” people off, considering they might be your best friend, partner, family, or co-worker.
You must make a decision…
Do you value yourself, your dreams, your goals, your purpose and your life more than you value a toxic friendship that is hurting your success?
Until you make that decision, you will never be able to GROW as a person, you will stay still.
To make that decision, the first thing you need to do is be REAL with yourself.
Have a sense of AWARENESS.
Really think long and hard.
Make a list of your friends who are hurting you and a list of who is helping you.
If you’re having trouble doing this, write down all their pro’s and con’s.
Then after you have this list.
EXECUTE it and start surrounding yourself with the people who DESERVE your company.
You’re The Average of The 5 People You Hang Around Most
Motivational speaker Jim Rohn famously said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.
After doing research, I found out this relates to the law of averages, which is the theory that the result of any given situation will be the average of all outcomes.
Salespeople, entrepreneurs, athletes and all successful people know that, in order to increase your wins, you’ve also got to increase your losses. It’s somewhat of a numbers game.
When it comes to relationships, we are greatly influenced — whether we like it or not — by those closest to us. It affects our way of thinking, our self-esteem, and our decisions. Of course, everyone is their own person, but research has shown that we’re more affected by our environment than we think.
While it’s ideal to be closely surrounded by positive, supportive people who want you to succeed, it’s also necessary to have your critics.
Many entrepreneurs strive to be the smartest person in the room on every issue. But if you’re always the smartest person, you’re hurting yourself. You want to surround yourself with people who can run circles around you in as many areas as possible, people who are exponentially better in a variety of ways.
Get around as many wealthy, positive, purpose-driven people you possibly can.
Find People Who Have What You Want
Just Like Tony Robbins said “If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you’ll achieve the same results.” Start not only surrounding yourself with good people making good money, but find people who directly have what you want.
Provide MASSIVE value to these types of people in exchange for mentorship.
Whether it’s a service, skill, currency, trade, referrals… JUST FIND SOMETHING to provide to someone who is willing to mentor you that is more valuable to them then mentorship is to you.
That’s how you gain the frame-control and real authentic help with your goals will be received.
